One of Edinburgh's best-loved residents, Bobby became known in the 19th century for his unwavering loyalty to his master, spending 14 years guarding the grave of his beloved owner.
You can find his collar and drawings of him inside the Museum of Edinburgh, and pass his statue at the junction of George IV Bridge and Candlemaker

Some of our favourite facts about our hotel:
💙 Our iconic building - constructed from around 1898–1900 in a grand Renaissance-Revival cream-sandstone style. Originally operating as a glamorous department store (Patrick Thomson’s or PT’s as it was known) it was famous for its pneumatic tube cash systems, a children's shoe X-ray machine, live afternoon tea performances by a string and Palm Court orchestra, and a magical Christmas grotto.
💙Our location - situated on North Bridge we sit directly between Edinburgh's historic Old Town and the newer Georgian areas, bridging the two halves of the city.
💙 Our rooms - following a recent renovation, our bedrooms have never felt cosier - they are exactly what you want to come home to after a busy day of exploring.
💙Our gin - distilled especially for us by the fabulous Summerhall Distillery, our very own Conductor's Batch features in a number of incredible cocktails and is even available to buy as the ultimate souvenir 🍸
