Our little Sharing Box keeps growing 🤍

What started as a simple idea has turned into something really special. Guests leaving behind bits and pieces for future travellers to use. From toiletries to travel essentials, it’s all about sharing, reducing waste, and helping each other out.

We absolutely love seeing how many of you are just as sustainability-minded as we are 🌿 It’s these small, thoughtful gestures that make travelling feel more connected.

The very first “hello” many travellers get from Scotland isn’t Edinburgh Castle — it’s the Forth Bridge. If you’re flying into the city, look out the window just before landing: that bright red giant stretching across the Firth of Forth is impossible to miss.

Built in 1890, this engineering icon has carried trains for more than a century and still looks as bold as the day it opened. Up close, it’s even more impressive — a mix of Victorian ambition, steel, sea breeze and the best views of the estuary. And the best part? From our guesthouse, you’re just a short trip away from seeing it in person.

Whether you’re here for seaside wanders in Newhaven, coffee on The Shore, or a cosy base to explore all of Edinburgh, this is where your stay begins.

Here in Edinburgh, we like to stay one step ahead… literally.

If you’ve ever walked past the iconic Balmoral Hotel and thought “Hang on, that clock’s a bit keen”, you’d be absolutely right.

The famous clock tower runs five minutes fast—all to make sure travellers rushing to the train station underneath don’t miss their ride. Because nothing says “welcome to Scotland” quite like a gentle nudge towards punctuality… or mild panic.
Perfectly in sync with the city? Maybe not.
Perfectly in the spirit of Edinburgh? Absolutely.
