Lauriston Apartment - Episode 14 - Finishing touches.
Even more painting and cleaning. Now it was just some finishing touches like staining the stairs and tidying the TV cables. Ready now to move onto some before and after pictures!

complete! Tiles go on, more painting, lot's of cleaning and a little setting up. It's come a long way!

Lauriston Apartment episode 12- progress on all fronts. Starting to all come together now - Dylan finishes the 55 SQM of flooring and moves immediately onto putting up blinds with the new sofas unwrapped! Meanwhile the kitchen is prepared for tiling and the first of the bedrooms is ready (well from one angle!).

Lauriston apartment episode 11. Floored! We decided to put laminate down everywhere (except the bathroom) - all 55sq metres of it. Big job for Dylan! Meanwhile Vicky and Ross tackle the stair wallpaper including a 16 feet length.

Lauriston apartment. Episode 10. Papering over the cracks (that have been filled)!

Lining and wallpapering underway in the three bedrooms (Vicky and Ross) and meanwhile Dylan moves forward quickly with more of the kitchen including our lovely copper tap sink!

Lauriston apartment - episode 9 - Getting Plastered. New walls and damaged sections skillfully resurfaced by Dylan Lawrance. The lower half of the kitchen progressing too with the first doors on - the blue is plastic protection - they are Anthracite Grey!

Lauriston apartment episode 8. New cupboard built into the kitchen to tidy up the gas meter area and create some taller storage than kitchen cupboards. The first of the kitchen units go in, and the standard size (and very heavy) fire door goes in with the window above it done away with and a new door frame replacing the former very non-standard size old one.

Lauriston apartment - episode 7. Doors! We decided to change the very dated kitchen door to a modern fire door and separate the 'new' hallway from the rest of the apartment with a sliding pocket door. In fact we're going to change all the doors to match. Meanwhile back in the kitchen the pipework is making progress from the mess it was (including a gas pipe touring the room from the meter even though it sits right next to the boiler).

Lauriston apartment episode 6. Back downstairs to start the second piece of 'remodelling'. A cupboard at the back of the hall and under the stairs of about 2M X 2.5M featured an internal cupboard (!), storage space and space where the old hot water cylinder once was. Outside of that the stair emerged from above with a banister matching the sauna cladding.

Plan: remove all the cladding and move the entrance back about 75cm to bring the hall cupboard out into an enlarged hallway, build a wall to replace the banister and create a utility bay under the stairs. In a future project the area at the rear will feature a second toilet and possibly shower, no time now but everything put into place to feed it/power it/drain from it.

Lauriston S01 EP05. You knock some walls down and lose some cupboards - next you have to build it back. The enlarged master bedroom quickly becomes clear, but there's some serious scars! Much better use of the space and still a fine big hall still left.

Lauriston ep4. At some time in the past a slice of the master bedroom had been given to the smallest room - quite clever but left the master barely the largest of the three After the discovery of the hidden cupboard we decided to extend the Master bedroom down the very long hall to the banister, incorporating the new found cupboard and the one in the corner of bedroom 2 into the master bedroom. A lot of demolition work first!!

Lauriston episode 3. While waiting for some gas pipes to be looked at in the kitchen, Dylan moved upstairs (duplex flat) to remove a fitted bedroom that had seen better days. He noticed the hallway to that room seemed 'too long' and on investigation, uncovered a secret cupboard that had been completely hidden away!
