Thank you and a sad goodbye!! 😢😢😢 Wishing all our guests a fab and restful festive season & a happy new year!! As most of you know, we've sold the magic woods ... had to. Change is the only constant in life, and we came to a point where we had to make decisions regarding our family's future plans. It was a sad day for me, as I've met hundreds - if not thousands - of fabulous people at Aldroughty Woods since 2010, and I witnessed them making very special memories with their children, family and friends, in the woods over many years.
I've enjoyed most of it, but also had numerous nights lying awake with worries.
I would like to thank each and every one of you ... and I'd like to invite you to find my Marius Louw Author page, and follow me there. Just so we could keep in touch.
In the pipeline now is a new food & beverage venture. Soon you'll be able to look for the Boer & Brit, professional catering, Alves Wood, on fb.
Blessings, and once again, many thanks to all yurters, hutters, glampers and the many people who have touched our lives, many of whom I have since become friends with!

The Gardiners, habitual and repeat yurters, got married in the woods last summer. They returned for their 1st wedding anniversary to drink some Prosecco and beer, and to burn some wood. And because they're proper guests, they had a gift for the owner of this here very fine establishment. :-) Here they're having a chat with Andy and Layla, who were staying in the shepherd's hut.

The rocker meets the ageing hippy ... John and his daughter, Eloise, stayed at the shepherd's hut this week. He was actually on holiday, but did manage to case the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Elgin, where his band, the AC/DC tribute band VOLTS, are playing in September, 22nd I think. I'll be there man, defo, for sure!! Any muso who comes to my wood wearing a Ramones T-shirt is always welcome, and likely to be invited back!

Hey howzit all Woodlands Resters, yurters and shepherd's hutters!! Today is our day for celebrating the release of my new book. I told many of you about this ... and yes, I know, I know I know ... 'What an AMAZING three-night escape/adventure ... Came for Allan's 37th birthday, it's been heaven on earth and we don't want to go home ... There is no greater beauty than this!! Idyllic, happiness happening, making memories ... the comfiest bed ever :-)
We will be back!

'Our family had a fabulous time in the yurt in the woods. It was truly a special break away from it all! We made lots of memories with our daughter and her husband staying in the shepherd's hut and Elizabeth, our 7-year-old granddaughter. Tree swings, campfires, toasting marshmallows, making improvised cheese toasties on the campfire, trips in the wheelbarrow around the woods, den making, playing hide and seek, proper outdoor cooking ... The list is endless! Not to mention Elizabeth's bathtimes in the half (whisky) barrel! Thank you so much for everything! Best wishes!'
