A full house at the weekend: RAF, weddings and walking all bringing visitors to the town. It was like a house party and everyone was very happy with their West End Guest House experience.

We've had Outlander, Harry Potter and Braveheart tourism in Scotland. Now it's The Odyssey and the locations along The Moray Coast used in the film - all worth a visit. The West End Guest House in Elgin would be a perfect base for your visit and for exploring.

Behind the sand and dunes of Lossiemouth's east beach is the estuary of the Lossie River. Water, trees, peace and, when we were there, an osprey diving into the river for its tea! (That's the splash in one of the pictures.)

We hadn't visited Elgin Cathedral for a while but with friends staying with us we wanted to show them the sights. I think we'd forgotten how impressive it is: the history, architecture, carvings and views from the top.

If the weather was even better in Moray these beaches would be covered in people and there would be hotels in the dunes!

Literally, right on our doorstep. We have a colourful garden, mainly of Californian poppies which the wind and rain batter on one day but they come back red and smiling the next.
