Beach Polo tournament returned to Elie Beach during September - and what a day it was! 🐎☀️

As always, it’s such a uniquely magical event, made even better by the sunshine and blue skies!

If you fancy experiencing it for yourself, Beach Polo takes place once or twice a year right here on Elie Beach. Keep an eye on The Ship Inn Elie website for 2027 dates and details.

And it’s not just polo… beach cricket takes place over the summer months too, so there’s always a good excuse to come along, soak up the atmosphere and experience a little bit of Elie magic. 💙

We recently received the loveliest review from guests who stayed at the beautiful 9 Sahara Park, and we just had to share it. 🥰

When guests tell us they “didn’t want to leave”, we know we’ve done our job! Creating a cosy, comfortable home-from-home where you can properly relax is exactly what we want for every stay. ❤️

9 Sahara Park is a firm favourite thanks to its beautiful interiors, lovely outdoor space and direct beach access. And we particularly loved hearing about these guests taking their beach chairs down to the beach every morning with a flask of coffee… absolute heaven! ☕️🌊

Oh, and apparently it also has the comfiest bed and duvet (which is Dunort from Ikea, if anyone is interested! 😉).

Only in Elie! 🏏🌊

Last week, we enjoyed the final beach cricket match of the season - and what a lovely day it was! ☀️ The weather was dry and it was lovely to see lots of locals and visitors gathered on the beach to enjoy the action before the cricket season came to an end.

Did you know that The Ship Inn Cricket Club is known for being the only regular cricket club in the world to play its entire home fixture list on a beach? Pretty special! 🏏🌊

But the season isn’t quite over just yet…this Saturday 19th September, The Ship Inn will host its third annual Beach Polo Tournament, with horses and riders taking to the sands of Elie. And yes, it’s every bit as spectacular as it sounds! 🐎

It’s free to watch, so why not head along and enjoy the action? It’s another brilliant example of why there really is nowhere quite like Elie. 💙
