Since the Morbey family purchased the estate and house from Oliver Cromwells family in 1860, the estate has been developed

by successive generations into a productive arable farm. The present generation, Anthony and Alison, diversified the house in 2010 into a 5 Star gold Bed and Breakfast and an 'Exclusive Use' venue that is booked in its entirety for weddings, parties, conferences and private dinner parties. The Old Hall is located 1 mile from Ely, 12 miles from Newmarket, 15 miles from Cambridge and close to the borders of Norfolk and Suffolk. Ely railway station is a 5 minute drive away and this makes The Old Hall very accessible to London, other major cities and airports.

As the sun drops low over the lakes, the terrace fills with that unmistakable golden‑hour glow. Glasses of sangria catching the light. Soft Spanish music drifting through the warm evening air. That slow, effortless feeling of being somewhere else.

This year, we’re bringing back our much‑loved seven‑dish Spanish sharing feast — each dish beautifully crafted, vibrant with colour, and just £7 a dish. From croquetas to gambas al pil‑pil, it’s a relaxed, generous tasting experience designed to savour slowly.
