June is a wonderful month to be by the water.

The harbour changes by the hour, lunches become longer, and dinner often stretches well beyond sunset.

Only a handful of places remain for our Viña Cobos Wine Dinner on 17th June and for Father’s Day on 21st June.

For those in search of a gift, both offer something far more memorable than anything wrapped in paper.

The bar and terrace are open for drinks, nibbles and small plates, whether you’re joining us for an hour or settling in for the afternoon.

And with new menus arriving soon, there is plenty to look forward to at 36onthequay this month.

A room built for slow mornings and unhurried evenings.

An extra king bed layered in comfort, the kind you sink into and don’t rush to leave.

Exposed beams above, carrying the history of the building in every line and shadow.

A bay window opening onto uninterrupted harbour views.

Right now, just one rare Friday remains before we close for our annual break next week.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to stay by the water, this is it.

Chateau Musar Wine Dinner🍷🇱🇧

•Wednesday 13th May•

We are delighted to host an evening dedicated to Chateau Musar — a true icon of the wine world, shaped by time, independence, courage and an unwavering commitment to doing things differently.

Founded in 1930 in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, Chateau Musar has built its reputation over decades, producing wines of depth, character and remarkable longevity. This dinner marks a rare opportunity to explore that story in detail.

We are pleased to welcome Marek Wilimowski of Chateau Musar, who will host the evening and guide guests through a curated selection of wines — including the recently released 2019 vintage, unveiled after years of anticipation 🍷

Each wine will be paired with a four-course menu by Chef Gary Pearce and the team at 36 On The Quay, designed to complement and elevate every glass.

Arrival from 7:15pm for an aperitif, followed by dinner overlooking the harbour.

With two tables remaining, this is a rare chance to experience one of the world’s most distinctive wineries that — “captures, in a single glass, the wisdom of the past and the energy of the present”.

A dish built on patience.

Three-day slow-braised Wagyu short rib in a smoked Wagyu fat BBQ sauce. Potato slowly confit in Wagyu fat until tender. Onions charred, then marinated in oil to absorb that same depth of flavour. A bacon crumb to finish

A main course defined by depth, richness and intensity.

Currently on the set menu.

Tables can be reserved via the link in bio, before our annual break at the end of May.

Mid-spring…

a moment in nature’s cycle where wild and cultivated produce meet on the plate.

Wild garlic, foraged locally and used in full — nothing wasted, everything valued.

British asparagus from The New Forest Fruit Co Ltd— grown locally in the New Forest and brought to us at its best.

Local rhubarb from Tiers fruit, veg and flowers — sharp, vibrant, unmistakably spring.

Three-cornered leek, gifted every year by our lovely guests & long-standing friends of 36, straight from their garden into our kitchen

This is the produce shaping our menus right now at 36 On The Quay — rooted in the land around us, and the people behind it.

The set menu is about to change.

Our pea soup will make its final appearance this week, as we prepare for a mid-season shift.

Clean, vibrant, quietly comforting — it’s been a favourite for a reason.
