🌿BIG NEWS🦆
First we want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out and supported us with the reopening of the Coffee Shop & Restaurant in August!
Going forwards we are opening the coffee shop on Saturdays 10-3pm & the Campfire Café 5-8pm starting THIS SATURDAY (20th September) with our Heritage Festival.
We also heard your feedback; so we're trialling dropping the admission fee at the Ferry. Perhaps we should have communicated this better; this was never a charge for the Ferry, this was an admission to Castle Island; 4.5 acres of trails, walks and heritage projects which we are doing our best to develop into an amenity for all to enjoy. For those simply coming to grab a coffee and a bite we get that it seemed very expensive.
Instead we propose to leave the ferry as a donations based vessel; we still have to upkeep the island, we still have to ferry maintain, fuel and crew the ferry and we hope that you will appreciate this does have a cost and support by offering a small donation when you visit. These donations are used exclusively for non profit projects such as the upkeep and maintenance of the island and ferry.
Castle Island is pet friendly and open to the public for walks on Saturdays from 10am-7:30pm) Last ferry to the island/sitting in the restaurant is at 7:30pm.
