The Old Schoolhouse

18/09/2026

A unique jigsaw project for brushing up on language, geography, and sense of place. Hopefully it will be installed abs be part of a more permanent display soon.

We are delighted to officially launch the grand unveiling of our ‘One Place Many Pieces’ East Erne Townlands Jigsaw at Castle Park Centre Lisnaskea🧩

This has been a tremendous effort by local primary schools, community groups and Men Sheds who all came together to create this unique hand crafted jigsaw.

We are immensely proud of all involved and are delighted to see this project come together.

Come and see the final piece which is on display until 9pm tonight🙂

We don’t do it for the reviews … well only when they make us smile, which thankfully they often do.

These not always guaranteed and especially when running a B&B which has not been purpose built and when your house has its own quirks - which of course can be a part of the charm. A bit of behind the scenes hard work and a little dose of in person connection can help.

We truly love it here at The Old Schoolhouse when people come to stay, in Fermanagh, for whatever reason and it’s great seeing visitors coming for all kinds of competitions be that horse riding, watching and lately the youth golf “Champion of Champions”.

+ The Old-school house is an excellent B&B. John and Ruth are amazing hosts. Their place is welcoming, super clean and comfortable. We really felt at home. We highly recommend other travelers to choose them!

Wishing her well in her sporting endeavours and we very much hope we see her back in Fermanagh again some day!!

A Belcoo woman has made history as the first female swimmer from Fermanagh to cross the North Channel, the treacherous stretch of open water between Ireland and Scotland.
