Forgot, I have to make some more Steak and Ale pies too. You know it must be the alcohol I put in the pies. What do you think?

I have certainly started something with this homemade pie lark. I am now making chicken and ham pies as well. Do you think its the white wine I put in the sauce for the pie mix? That is the third pie gone this week and they are very big pies. Will make some more tomorrow, I hope.

It has been another year of welcoming old friends and new to the guest house. It has been wonderful to welcome back guests from previous years, from as far away as Australia, Canada and New Zealand, as well as ones from Germany, Belgium, France and Holland. I cannot believe that we have been here 6 years now and have met so many lovely people. The cafe too has regular customers from all over the country, who pop in like old friends for their breakfast lunch or tea. I would like to say thank you to everyone we have met here, It is a pleasure seeing all of you.
We hope to see you again soon

Three major events on Dartmoor soon. 8th Sept Ashburton Food and drink festival, 11th Sept, Widecombe fair with Uncle Tom Cobley and all, 15th Sept Tour of Britain Cycle race. Lots of other free events and activities this month. Come down and stay a while.
