Want to get away from it all? Or visit friends or family in the area? We have seen both types of guests staying at The Hutch and The Burrow over Christmas and New Year over the last 9 years. We even provide the decorations but can't promise the snow I'm afraid!

Shout out to a local business we support several times a week!

If you enjoy a whole, creamy, indulgent milk, then Mount Boon milk is for you. 🐄 🥛 All guests at The Hutch and The Burrow receive a bottle of their milk for their stay.

The cows are from our village of Longdown (you literally drive past them), and the milk machine is just a 2 min drive from your door. Glass bottles too, so no plastic. You can also get milkshakes, cheese and brownies from their vending machine in the milk shed. Hard to resist, as many guests have commented on before.

Don't worry, if you prefer semi skimmed or oat milk just let me know. We have it covered 👍

It’s your Saturday Sheep 🐑 update! Our biggest flock of break-in sheep in the bottom garden this morning. Can you count how many there are?!

Can you guess what exciting plans we have for The Hutch this winter?

We will be closing The Hutch from 1st to 15th November in order to make some improvements and additions which we really hope will improve and enhance the guest experience.

Who doesn't love a waddling hedgehog? 🦔

As you can see from our wildlife camera they definitely visit our garden and last month on one of Billy's noctural ambles at 4am in the morning (!) he clearly sniffed out where the hedghog was coming in. Due to the summer heat we did leave out a shallow tray of water for our wildlife visitors and love having them pop in.

Autumn and winter cosy break away anyone? Hands up if you prefer them to the heat of our recent summer! 🙌 🍂 ❄️ Glass of red w**e by the fire, having a cup of tea in bed, enjoying a soak in the bath or reading in the winter sunshine. We have them all covered.

Do you like a transformation? The before and after? 🏠 🛠️

We are often asked by guests whether we bought our place as it is, or whether we had the work done to create the holiday homes. Here is the answer - back in 2020 when we were all in the midst of Covid we had our garage converted into our second holiday let, The Burrow.

I still find it a bit mad to think it was just a big garage, and is now a very homely apartment which has seen many guests stay over the last 6 years. I do however miss the storage we once had - think bikes and tents in bedrooms on our side of the house.
