Its Bank Holiday Weekend - the sun is shining and here at the very Heart of Exmoor we are open ALL DAY for food and drink on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday lunchtime and evening - both inside and out! What better time to enjoy our wonderful riverside Beer Garden

🎶✨Wild Arts return to Dunster Castle with an evening of operatic and musical hits

This semi‑staged performance weaves 75 minutes of glorious music into a brand‑new story full of drama, comedy and romance from Handel, Mozart, Rossini and Britten to favourites by Rodgers and Sondheim. Performed by four outstanding singers and a world‑class string quintet, it’s opera at its most entertaining and accessible.

🧺 Make a night of it
Arrive from 5.30pm to spread out your picnic on the lawn and pop the cork. Picnic rugs, chairs, tables and hampers are all very welcome!

We are delighted to welcome Matthew Oates to the Big Nature Day, who will give a personal, radical and forward-looking take on our relationship with butterflies and associated conservation efforts. 🦋

Matthew is a nature writer specialising in butterflies, and writes regularly for Nature Notebook in The Times, and is the author of In Pursuit of Butterflies, His Imperial Majesty, a natural history of the Purple Emperor and Beyond Spring. He was a specialist ecologist for the National Trust for almost 30 years and was closely involved with conservation work on the Heath and High Brown Fritillaries on Exmoor.

Running from the 23rd May to the 4th July.

To launch the exhibition there will be a 'meet and greet' with Rupert on Saturday 23rd May from 11-12, come and chat to Rupert about his life as a BBC/ITV wildlife cameraman and photographer.
