The Glenerne is a charming period property on the edge of Eyemouth’s historic harbour offering six luxury guest rooms with breakfast, fantastic service, and meticulous attention to detail. Set within beautiful mature gardens, staying here is less formal than a hotel, but still retains the chic.

Zoe & Gary have been hosting guests for many years. Thousands have enjoyed the hospitality and an award winning and legendary breakfast each morning. Many have become firm friends. The Glenerne is in a marvellous spot with steps down to the harbour. It’s also situated next to amazing countryside and right on the Berwickshire Coastal path for the beautiful coastal walks and on the National Cycle Trail for some stunning cycle rides. Fishing boats have sailed from Eyemouth Harbour since the 16th century. Seals still laze by the picturesque quayside and Seagulls still soar in the breeze hoping for a steal. The local area is packed with reminders of Pirates & Smugglers, of Fishing and of the sea.

Running a guest house is hard work. If I'm honest, a lot harder than I had realised. But it is SO worth it. We live in a beautiful home, in a beautiful town and we are so lucky to meet hundreds of amazing guests from all countries and all walks of life. What a privilege!

And then, the absolute cherry on top is when one of those guests buys us a gift. A couple of weeks ago, it was chocolates, earlier this week it was American candy (to die for) and today, it was these beautiful flowers arranged and delivered by the completely wonderful ladies of Occasions of Eyemouth Florist 💖

While walking our dog Molly along the high street near the museum this afternoon, I was sorry to witness a young seagull chick being run over. The driver did not stop, but was not driving dangerously or at any excessive speed - the gull simply didn't move when the driver probably thought it would.
Sad to see even though the gulls have been a real pain tfor us this year :-(

Today marks one year since our move to Scotland, and to our new venture The Glenerne - and what a year it's been!

Challenging at times for sure, but with all the potential we saw in the building and the business we have both enjoyed the journey that's bought us to where we are now.

All the guest bedrooms and downstairs public areas, gardens and outbuildings have had a thorough makeover, and we're getting ready for our next phase of development into the art gallery and coffee shop.

We're taking the time to get it right, and will of course post any major milestones here as we go along.

In the meantime thank you for all your support and encouragement - it's great to be here in Eyemouth :-)
