Yesterdays 95% eclipse viewed out on Falmouth seafront, we used the colander method as didn't have any glasses. It was a beautiful evening and although it didn't go as dark as the 100% eclipse we experienced in 1999 there was a lovely earie light when it reached 95%. Still a few days of Falmouth Week to go - how blessed have we been with this weather! 😎

Getting excited about the Falmouth Week air show and the solar eclipse tomorrow evening? 🌜 we will be open from 9am as usual throughout the day, during the air show and during the eclipse, closing around 7:30-8pm depending on how many customers are around! A whole 10+ hours to visit the café and we will be serving food throughout! Hope to see you all there 🥰

A quick update on the Air Display taking place tomorrow, on Wednesday 12 August 🛩️

The Flying Comrades have had to withdraw after one of their aircraft suffered engine failure on its way back from Blackpool which unfortunately won't be fixed in time. We hope to see them over Falmouth Bay another year.

Stepping in at the last minute is Mark Linney, flying his Van's RV-8 in a solo aerobatic display. Mark's flown just about everything, from RAF fast-jets to Airbus A350s to airshow legends like the Hawker Hunter, and he'll be putting that experience to full use carving loops and rolls through the sky above the bay, smoke trail and all.

The Royal Navy Raiders and AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers complete the line-up from 6.15pm, with the solar eclipse unfolding overhead too.

Falmouth Oyster Festival is back for 2026, from October 8 - 11th 🦪

We sailed back in style last year, with sizzling chef demonstrations, incredible live music, thousands of Native Fal Oysters being shucked, fizz flowing freely and of course the renowned Oyster Shucking Competition & Working Boat race! ⛵️

A community-led event to celebrate the start of the oyster dredging season on the Fal estuary, Falmouth Oyster Festival champions this proud tradition, always with the beautiful Fal Native Oysters and the fishermen that farm them at the fore.

This year, we’re returning to Events Square with another programme stacked with culinary talent from across the South West, more food & drink experiences spotlighting some of Falmouth & Cornwall’s brilliant producers, suppliers and fresh seasonal produce, plus more live music, more family friendly activities, & more ways to get stuck into the celebrations!
