πŸŒŠβš“ Happy World Maritime Day! βš“πŸŒŠ

Today, we celebrate the incredible achievements of the maritime industry and the vital role it plays in our global economy. From the largest cargo ships to the smallest fishing boats, the world of maritime keeps us connected and thriving.

🚒 Did you know that approximately 80% of global trade by volume and 70% by value is carried by sea? Our goods, resources, and even our dreams of distant shores depend on the dedication and expertise of the maritime community.

🌏 This year's theme, "Seafarers: At the Core of Shipping's Future," reminds us to honour and support the unsung heroes of the sea. These brave men and women face the elements, spend months away from their families, and navigate vast oceans to ensure our well-being.

🌐 World Maritime Day also serves as a reminder of the importance of sustainable practices in maritime. Together, we can work towards a cleaner, safer, and more responsible maritime future.

β›΅ So, whether you're a maritime professional, a coastal enthusiast, or simply someone who marvels at the beauty and power of the sea, let's unite in celebration today! πŸŒŠπŸ’™

The Cornish Pasty πŸ˜‹

A bite-sized piece of history and tradition! 🏞️

🌟 Wrapped in flaky, golden pastry, these hearty pockets are filled with a savoury combination of tender beef, diced potatoes, swede, and onions, seasoned to perfection.

🌊 Originating from the mining communities of Cornwall, the pasty's unique "D" shape with a crimped crust was designed for a practical purpose. Miners could hold onto the crimped edge without contaminating their meal with dirty hands, and it also made for a tasty, self-contained lunch deep underground.

🍽️ Today, the Cornish Pasty is enjoyed by all, whether you're exploring Cornwall's rugged coastline, strolling through quaint villages, or simply craving a comforting, wholesome meal.
