We are pleased to confirm that following ongoing discussions between Maenporth Estate, Cornwall Council and Life’s a Beach Café, Cornwall Council has given approval for maintenance works to begin on the beach car park.
The first phase is expected to start next week and will involve re-profiling the section of car park nearest the café, using existing material alongside a small amount of imported aggregate to create a more suitable parking surface.
This initial section will be trialled and monitored over the winter, with the intention of reviewing the results and, if successful, extending the works to the remainder of the car park next year.
We are also continuing to explore a longer-term solution for protecting the café building. This would involve relocating the existing boulders from the beach to provide protection around the café. These works would be subject to planning permission and any other necessary consents.
