More inspiration for places to visit when staying at the Captain's House Falmouth from one of our guests who visited last year. Just shows whatever the weather there is still lots to see in beautiful Cornwall!

Cape Cornwall Another wonderful Autumn drive from The Captain’s House in Falmouth. Where better to start a road trip than at the End? While we continue to only be able to dream of holidays as we stay safe during this continuing pandemic, here is a chance to find out more about the beauty of Cornwall from one of our guests who stayed at The Captain's House last year. This is his blog about their day trip along the Cornish coast starting from Falmouth.

Matt, Ruth and baby Iris take a day trip from The Captain’s House, Falmouth, to The Mount, Marazion, Mousehole and the Minack, as recorded by Matt Trebilco. Cornwall is a beautiful county, with perhaps some of the most spectacular coastline in the world – and Falmouth is a great starting point f...

An easy drive from The Captain’s House to this small fishing village on the east side of the Lizard Peninsula. The traditional occupation of the locals was pilchard fishing and...

Has lockdown given you time to read some of your favourite novels? Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier has always been one of mine. When we were last in Falmouth we explored Frenchman's Creek and it is as beautiful as the book.

In the unusual lockdown world in which we live, are you reading more novels and revisiting old favourites, like I am? One of my oldy favourites is ‘Frenchman’s Creek’ by Daphne DuMaurier. So evocative of the Cornish coast and stunning countryside around the Helford River. ‘…the sound of th...

Every time we visit Falmouth we discover new places and have another favourite for the list. The Helford River is the most beautiful place to visit whatever time of year you are here.

You can hire a small motor boat from the Helford Passage, opposite the Ferry Boat Inn. No experience necessary. They are quite straightforward to drive, and the Helford is quite easy...
