Honoured to have met this guy yesterday... and now I can add skateboard hosting alongside campervans, and motorhomes lol... Good luck with your wild ambition mate.. more than most would attempt! ๐
And so it begins... I'm attempting to skate over 1200 miles from Dover to Tain (North Scotland), and I'm raising money for Ground, one of my favourite places in Hull. I'm no influencer, but I will be documenting the whole thing right here.
So if you'd buy me a beer or two for doing this, please take a look here www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/ground-needs-help for more information and consider making a donation. Every little helps and it is never spent carelessly.
Alternatively, if there's another cause closer to your heart that you would prefer to donate to then that's great too.
To the extent that this trip has a message, it's that I think we need to be more aware of how ragebait on social media affects all of us. It's easy to recognise its effect on others but much harder to see clearly when it's tailored to our own passions and values.
There's so much to be angry about in the world, but if our online habits just lead to us doomscrolling and feeling terrible then we can't engage usefully in the world anyway.
I've found that skating is a good way for me to disconnect, and I hope that this trip encourages you to make some space in your life to disconnect healthily in your own way.
When I'm not doing stuff like this I play and teach drums, and I'm pretty good at it. If you want lessons or need some drumming doing then get in touch! There are some old videos of me playing here Paul Hurley DRUMS
This is a family-friendly page. Friendly bants are welcome but please keep it clean!
