Back to Filey again. We started today with snow, then it's glorious sunshine! Never seen the beach with so little sand...must have had some pretty brutal tides over the last month!

📣 Update: North Sea oil tanker collision. 📣

Our thoughts are with the crew and the emergency services responding to this incident. We are deeply concerned about its potential impact on the marine environment, particularly East Yorkshire’s internationally important seabird populations. This area is home to protected colonies of Puffins, Razorbills, Guillemots, Gannets, and Kittiwakes, many of which are gathering offshore ahead of the nesting season.

A major pollution event would be devastating, as seabird populations are still recovering from avian flu. We are closely monitoring the situation, conducting daily checks for any signs of pollution, and working with local organisations to assess developments.
