We've been quiet for a while! Been making lots of trips but forgetting to share them. High Tide had a refresh at the end of 2022 - you can expect fresh paint and new soft furnishings on your next visit. February half term included a visit to the Sealife Centre at Scarborough (which was great, the children loved it) and Robin Hoods Bay (it remains a favourite and apparently children can bury each other in sand up to their necks even in February). A few other new places will get a mention in our guest book if you are looking for inspiration on your next visit.

High Tide is open again and we've been back! It was a lovely trip with a week of sunshine. The Bay is looking great. We visited some of our usual favourites - Whitby, Filey Bay (even made it into the sea, albeit in wetsuits), the Brigg and Bridlington. We discovered Ravenscar where the rocks were covered with seals and Boggle Hole where there are fossils to be found. Next time we plan a walk from Ravenscar to Robin Hoods Bay.

The Bayside Kitchen was doing a brilliant job with takeaway and we had a drink at the John Paul Jones which was doing table service outside. We also took advantage of the swimming pool having reopened to enjoy a swim.

It is lovely to have many of our previous guests returning this year. We still have some early Summer availability. If you fancy a break later in the year there is still plenty to do in the area - the perfect location for a staycation.

Sorry we have been quiet recently. We hope everyone is keeping well. We managed a quick trip to High Tide before lockdown to do a few odd jobs and it was lovely to be back. Since then, we’ve been watching and waiting to see when we, and you, can get back to High Tide again and have decided it is time to be optimistic and start taking bookings. Our website hightide-filey.co.uk has been updated with this year’s prices, we’ve kept them competitive as before. We look forward to hearing from you as we embark on another year of staycations. We want you to be reassured, if you make a booking and then things change and a lockdown prevents your trip, we will refund 100% of what you have paid for your stay. Stay safe, Wendy & Neal.

The weather is making it clear that the Summer is long gone and it has left us looking back over our first season at High Tide - it has been lovely! We have been very fortunate to have such brilliant guests, thank you! Here are some of our pictures... hopefully a nice reminder for those who have visited before and an idea of what you can expect if you've not stayed just yet.

Pleased to report we have finally made our first visit to The Bay as owners of High Tide. The cottage is still as lovely as we remembered. The Bay are keeping things looking good despite the lock down. A small achievement for us - the Wifi is up and running! It was a lovely visit, the sun was shining and the beach was stunning as usual. We're looking forward to the next visit (and some good news about when we can welcome guests🤞😃)
