Centenary way Camping and Caravan Park has now closed and will reopen in 2025 under new ownership.
After 28 years Martin and I have now decided that it's time to hang up our guy ropes and retire.
So, on the 15th November it will be a very sad day for the Douglas family when we close the gate for the final time.
We have made many happy memories and friends over the years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your custom and wish you all the best for the future.

We are handing over the ropes to The Flower of May park. As yet I cannot confirm what the process will be for making future bookings. I will however, update this page as I get more information.

We will still be living in Filey so, please give us a wave if you see us out and about

Take care and once again Thank you

Louise, Martin, Matthew and Rebecca 💙

Unlike other fish, they sink when they are not swimming and will spend most of their time living in the sand.

During the summer months they come inshore and can be found in very shallow water or buried in sand, leaving poisonous dorsal spines sticking out

The pain feels similar to a wasp or bee sting but often increasing further – casualties often report a sensation of their foot being 'on fire'.

The NHS recommends that you ask a lifeguard or a first aider for help in the first instance, but should no-one be available, you should do the following:

* Rinse the affected area with sea water (not fresh water)
* Remove any spines from the skin using tweezers – or if you don’t have any with you, the edge of a bank card
* Soak the area in the warmest water you can tolerate for at least 30 minutes, or use hot flannels or towels if you cannot soak it
* Take over-the-counter painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen.

Best thing is to wear something on your feet.. might not be practical, because you want to paddle, but it’ll save you from unnecessary pain.
