PLACES TO VISIT:
We recently visited Moray Motor Museum in Elgin. I can't believe we've lived here for over 20 years and this was our first visit!

What a fantastic collection of cars! From a 1910 Daimler that was owned by the local Christie family, to vintage classics and Goodwood winners, and even a 1958 Bubble Car (my mum and dad had a white one!).

Open from 1st April to the end of October it's definitely worth a visit.

Hello!
We've had a few new likes lately so I thought we'd introduce ourselves!

We're Steve and Clare, originally from Oxford, we relocated to Scotland over 20 years ago. It was a total leap of faith - we bought our house off the internet, we hadn't even visited the village of Portknockie! It couldn't have worked out better - we loved it here from day one, and can't imagine living anywhere else.

We bought 4 Duke Street in Findochty in 2011, it had lain empty for 18 months and was in a state of disrepair. We worked tirelessly to totally renovate it and welcomed our first guests 6 months later.

Fifteen years later and we're still welcoming guests to Findochty, some have become regulars and some have become friends. And some have even moved here too!

Thanks to all our guests, past, present and future for allowing us to share our wonderful corner of the world with you!

We went in search of giants!

Culbin Forest is one of the locations used in the new blockbuster film The Odyssey.

Odysseus and his crew are chased through the forest by the cannibalistic giants, the Laestrygonians…

We didn’t find any giants, but we did find plenty of mushrooms, and loads of teeny-tiny toadlets!

Just a 50 minute drive from Findochty, Culbin has plenty of trails to explore, with beautiful woodland, dunes and coastal scenery to discover.

Whether you're both keen golfers, or only one of you plays, the Moray Coast has something for everyone.

While one of you enjoys a round at one of the many fantastic local courses, the other can wander around picturesque harbours, browse independent shops, enjoy a coastal walk or simply relax with a good book overlooking the sea.

Meet up at the end of the day for great food, a stunning sunset and another day well spent. It's one of the many reasons couples love staying here.

Golf without the crowds...

If golf is your idea of a perfect holiday, September and October are hard to beat. The courses are quieter, green fees can be better value, and the weather is still good enough to make walking 18 holes a pleasure.

We've created our own Golf Guide, packed with some of our favourite courses within easy reach of Findochty, making it easy to plan a golfing break while enjoying everything else the Moray Coast has to offer.

Have you ever watched a film and thought, "I wonder where that was filmed"?

The latest Christopher Nolan blockbuster, 'The Odyssey', starring Matt Damon, has put a spotlight on some incredible locations right here in the north-east of Scotland.

From the dramatic ruins of Findlater Castle, and the white sands of Sunnyside Beach, to the forest trails through Culbin Forest - where you can imagine yourself being chased by the Laestrygonians, a tribe of towering, man-eating giant warriors!

These aren't film sets, they're real places you can visit for yourself. And all within easy reach of Findochty.

If you're planning an autumn escape, September and October are great times to visit. The crowds are smaller, the scenery is every bit as stunning, and you might even find yourself walking in the footsteps of Hollywood.

Which location would you visit first?
