Did you know our cottages are named after seabirds you can spot on the nearby cliffs?
Puffins, gannets, guillemots kittiwakes and razorbills all nest along this stretch of coastline, especially around Bempton and Flamborough Head. Their return each year is one of the highlights of spring and summer here — and a reminder of just how special this coastline is.
Staying at The Grange means being surrounded by nature, with the sights and sounds of the sea never far away — even in the names of the places you stay.

We have had the best week staying in Kittiwake , with clear, helpful communication from start to finish.
The main aim of the holiday was to see puffins which was achieved on our first day at Bempton Cliffs, and later again at North Landing, which left the rest of the week to plan other days out including trips on the train to Scarborough and the whisky distillery in Hunmanby.
Each day we returned to the cosy comfort of Kittiwake (and the hot tub)perfectly situated and equipped. We felt at home from the moment we walked in the door.
The only downer on the week was that the steam trains were not running all the way from Pickering to Whitby, but never mind, it just means that we will have to come back for another stay.
