Some places were simply made for celebrating. ✨

In 1591, Queen Elizabeth I was welcomed to the Elvetham estate with four days of banquets, music and entertainment. More than four centuries later, the art of celebration is still very much alive.

This Christmas, the tradition continues.

Autumn has a way of making the little pleasures feel even better. 🍂

Long lunches that turn into afternoon cocktails. Seasonal dishes worth lingering over. Afternoon tea, slow mornings, and the kind of countryside escape that makes you forget what day it is.

Named after Queen Elizabeth I, Gloriana Bar brings a little history to cocktail hour, in a room that has been welcoming guests for centuries.

Named after the family who called Elvetham home for three centuries.

The Seymour Suite is light-filled, quietly grand, and full of little pieces of Elvetham’s history.

Look closely at the fireplace and you’ll find Queen Elizabeth I carved in stone, with Sir Walter Raleigh and the Earl of Essex either side of her.

And elsewhere in the grounds, another piece of her story remains: the oak she planted during her visit to Elvetham in 1591 is still standing today.

Original antique bookcases, an ornate fireplace and beautiful views across the grounds give this room a character all of its own.

Some places hold more than history. They hold stories.

A church at Elvetham was recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086. Centuries later, it became closely woven into the story of the Seymour family, who called Elvetham home for generations.

Today, it is our Bell Tower, standing quietly as one of the most beautiful and distinctive parts of the estate.
