Join us at The Mount Fleetwood on 8 May 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.

Starting from 8:30pm, there will be music from The Flat Cap Three, reflective poems from the community, the ceremonial lighting of the beacon, plus a commemorative badge for everyone to take home.

There’s no need to book, simply come along and join us in marking this historic day.

Hey Doggies and here's the latest news in Wyre! We have amazing stretch of beaches to enjoy. Watch out for the flags and notices! Dog wardens are patrolling and we advise you to ensure your humans have lots of dog bags and check the Wyre Council links and ask your hosts for details! 😍🐾💕

Attention Dog Owners! 🐾

From Thursday 1 May to Tuesday 30 September, Wyre's seasonal dog ban on bathing beaches will be in effect. While we love seeing your four-legged friends in our outdoor spaces, please ensure our bathing beaches remain dog-free during this period.

Affected areas:

Cleveleys Beach: From FBKafe to the Wyre/Blackpool boundary
Marine Beach in Fleetwood: Opposite the beach huts near the slipway to Central car park

There are still plenty of beach areas to enjoy with your dogs, and the promenade is not included in the restrictions (dogs must be on a lead on the promenade).

It's this time of year when some beach restrictions for dog owners come into force.

From today until 30 September, please only exercise your dogs on the following beaches:

⛱ North Pier to Anchorsholme
