Flodigarry Hotel, , with the Trotternish Ridge behind, 1930s.

The house was designed by the Inverness firm of Ross & MacBeth and built in the early 1890s for Ranald Livingston MacDonald, the great great grandson of Flora MacDonald. After his death in 1926, it was purchased by James Simpson of Portree who converted it into a hotel.
