Jason and the team would love to welcome you to the Railway Hotel in Fordingbridge.
It's proper summer pub weather, so whether you fancy a lazy afternoon or a relaxed summer evening, grab a Pimm’s and find a spot in the courtyard.
There’s plenty else behind the bar too. We’ve got four lagers, three real ales, ciders, wines, spirits and plenty of other drinks. On the pumps at the moment you’ll find Downton Brewery’s New Forest Ale and Lion’s Tale Ale, alongside Timothy Taylor’s Landlord.
And if you’re hungry, the kitchen is serving proper home-cooked food. The main menu has plenty of pub favourites, including homemade beef and ale pie, fish and chips with homemade tartare sauce, the Railway Burger and chicken supreme.
And then there are the pizzas, which feel made for the courtyard on a summer evening. They’re a great choice if you want something relaxed with a drink outside. Try The New Forest with mushrooms and garlic, The Bournemouth Bell with chilli beef and red onions, The Orient Express with Asian-style chicken, peppers and sweetcorn, or The Flying Scotsman with crispy bacon, sausage and pepperoni.
Or maybe you will like something from our specials.
The pan-fried hake is definitely worth a mention. It’s served with pea and truffle velouté, dill-crushed new potatoes and seasonal vegetables. A really lovely summer dish and something a little different from the usual pub menu.
There’s also scampi and chips, an 8oz gammon steak with chips, peas, pineapple and fried egg, and an 8oz ribeye with grilled tomato, onion rings, mushrooms and chips.
If you’re just after something lighter, there’s whitebait with tartare sauce and lemon, or Fordingbridge figs with caramelised honey, goats’ cheese and walnut.
And there’s always room for pudding. Sticky toffee pudding, raspberry frangipane, cheesecake, tiramisu, New Forest ice cream and a cheese and biscuit platter are all on the menu, along with chocolate profiteroles from the specials board.
Sundays are sorted too, with a proper roast. Choose from roast sirloin of beef, roast loin of pork with crackling or a nut roast, all served with roast potatoes, roasted carrot, honey-roasted parsnip, broccoli, swede mash, homemade stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy. There’s a kids’ roast too.
Dogs are very welcome, so there’s no need to leave them at home.
And if you fancy making a night or weekend of it, we have accommodation available at the Railway Hotel too. There are boutique-style en-suite rooms with comfortable king-sized beds, plus a self-catering two-bedroom cottage. We also have disabled access and some great rates available.

What would you be ordering? The hake, one of the pizzas in the courtyard, the homemade pie, a steak, or are you saving yourself for Sunday roast? Let us know; we would love to hear.
