Evening folks, we're starting to wind down after a big week at Mosset HQ. It's been packed with guests (thank you) and packed with promotions. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Another promotion at Mosset HQ! 🎉

The good news just keeps coming at Mosset HQ as we’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kristina Wright to the position of Assistant Front of House Manager.

More brilliant, home-grown Mosset progression 🎊

Kristina joined us part-time in the kitchen back in 2021 before making the move to Front of House. Since then, she’s worked her way through the ranks and you’ll often find her behind the bar — serving, not drinking! 😂 — running great shifts as a supervisor and taking care of our guests and our team alike.

Kristina takes huge pride in the Mosset, understands what makes this place tick and has consistently shown the commitment, attitude and ability to take the next step.

She’ll now work alongside Morven, supporting her in her new role as General Manager and helping keep our Front of House team performing at their very best.

We’re absolutely delighted for her and I know she’s going to absolutely smash it! 💪

Promotion News 🎉

Well done, Morven!

We are delighted, incredibly proud and genuinely honoured to announce the immediate appointment of our Front of House Manager, Morven MacGregor, to the role of General Manager of the Mosset Tavern.

Morven joined us at the Mosset back in October 2020, having been introduced to us while we were caretaking the Red Lion. Since then, she has climbed the ranks at Mosset HQ through quality, tenacity and professionalism, taking on everything hospitality has thrown at her — including navigating two lockdowns!

Morven is absolutely the right person for this role. She demonstrates ownership of the Mosset every single day, cares deeply about our team, our guests and what we are trying to achieve, and I know that sense of ownership will only grow in her new role.

This is a thoroughly deserved promotion, and one that makes me incredibly proud as the owner of the business.

This Week’s Quizzing News 🧠🍻

Another absolutely packed night at Mosset HQ! The Tuesday night quiz has somehow turned into a bit of a cult, and your support is genuinely amazing. Thank you, as always. ❤️

Anyway… here’s what happened this week:

🏆 118 quizzers, 1 winning team — and this week it was Making Up The Numbers who took top spot! Well done, gang! These quizzers really know their stuff, although there was no hiding Molly’s excitement when the questions turned to castles, while Lily’s music knowledge was, as always, phenomenal. 👏

🎂 In honour of two very special quizzers celebrating a milestone birthday, Annie and Lorraine, the music round was dedicated to them, from a playlist simply called **“Oh Bu****er, I’m Turning 70!”** 😂

🎗️ Georgia from No Quizzing Clue has absolutely smashed her fundraising target, thanks in no small part to her fellow quizzers. We wish her all the very best as she takes on the Rob Roy Mighty Hike this weekend in aid of Macmillan. Good luck, Georgia! 💪

🏔️ The quizmaster was given a public lesson in how to pronounce Scafell properly by Suzanne from The Brady Bunch. You can’t quite tell from this, but I’m still shaking as I type this. 😅

🎙️ It wasn’t quite a full house on the Mystery Voice tonight as Martin Compston from Line of Duty had plenty of you completely baffled!

🍰 And the home baking was elite. Massive thanks to the Questionable Ladies — 1,000 extra points are obviously awarded.

🥈 Finally, a huge well done to new team Willing Tillings, who took 2nd place! One to watch, these guys… 👀
