🌱 Join a Community Seed Collection Day in Glenuig! 🌱

The Loch Abar Mòr team is excited to invite you to take part in a Community Seed Collection Day, a chance to get outdoors, connect with nature and play a hands-on role in restoring Lochaber’s native woodlands.

Why it matters:
Following recent wildfires, open areas in Lochaber now offer a unique opportunity for woodland recovery. By collecting seeds from native trees, participants will help build a community seed bank and prepare for an innovative woodland restoration project using drone seeding. This initiative, funded by the Highlands and Islands Environment Foundation, aims to accelerate the return of resilient, biodiverse woodlands to the landscape.

Event details:
📅 Date: Sunday 21st September
🕘 Time: 11:30 – 15:00
📍 Meeting point: Glenuig Community Inn
👟 Bring: Sturdy footwear, gloves, weather-appropriate clothing and enthusiasm! Depending on numbers, soup and drinks will be provided at the Inn.

Activities include:
🌳 Collecting native tree seeds near Glenuig
🌳 Learning tree identification and seed collection
🌳 Supporting a pioneering nature restoration project blending traditional stewardship with new technology

All are welcome! No prior experience is needed, just the ability to walk over rough and sometimes steep terrain.
