Fowey is a quaint but bustling little fishing town nestled on the south Cornwall coast where the large, deep water harbour is a paradise for sailing fanatics. It’s crammed with pretty, crooked little streets, lined with independent boutiques, which tumble down to the waterside where you can take in the comings and goings of this busy little port. Whether it’s watching a cruise ship drifting silently by or the little sailing boats glide up and down the estuary, there’s a constant, ever-changing backdrop to feast your eyes on.
Fowey Harbour Hotel overlooks the estuary, only a few minutes walk into the town centre or to the secluded beach where you can paddle or pick up the south west coastal path. The newly refurbished hotel has been beautifully transformed. Its stunning interiors have been inspired by Fowey’s rich history of exotic world travel. Vibrant and colourful patterned wallpaper adorns the walls and abundance of light and space with sweeping views across the estuary creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
The hotel has 37 stunning bedrooms, many with estuary views. Each room has mattresses you’ll sink into. A tipple or two of Gin & Sherry on us. Inspired artwork you’ll wish was on the walls of your house. A library of design and local culture. Super soft and fluffy dressing gowns. The White Company toiletries (we don’t mind if you take them home!). Waterfall showers to revive and refresh. And anything you need – just a phone call away.
Our kitchen, bar and terrace, combines a colonial and beachside feel with a contemporary twist. Looking out over the estuary the restaurant and bar flow seamlessly out onto the elevated terrace, perfect for a spot of alfresco dining whilst watching the sun set. John Pollard, Chef Director, has developed The Foweys dining concept. John and his team are the masters at uniting fresh, locally grown produce with farm-raised, wild-caught seafood and farm assured meats to make the freshest and most delicious dishes. The bar is a great space for locals and guests to come together, relax, work and play, serving coffees and cocktails all day, every day. Perch at the impressive bar with its marble counter top, or take a sea view window seat and enjoy a glass of fizz. Throughout the day the atmosphere is relaxed, sit back and enjoy coffees, cocktails and a bite to eat if you fancy it. Whether you’re a cocktail kind of guy or girl or someone who enjoys a great draft beer, you’ll love it.
