Say hello to the newest member of the Penhale family...baby Ozzy the owlet. Look how fluffy! Today he had his wings checked and leg tagged by the British Trust for Ornithology (he was v well behaved) so they can keep track of owl numbers. Apparently his wing markings make it most likely he's a boy. We love having them here and they have a special owl box in one of our barns. You may be lucky enough to see his mum swoop down the lane at dusk or across the valley...hunting for Ozzy's dinner 😍

Some cracking art/garden/literary events are on the way next month 🌸🎨

Every May, the Fowey Art Trail is held in conjunction with the du Maurier Fowey Literary Festival. This year, it begins on Saturday, May 10, and runs until Saturday, May 17. Fowey Art Trail showcases local artists who open up their homes or their studios and welcome residents and visitors to the town into their workspaces. We have a Great Spotted Woodpecker living in the garden! We've heard them before but it's the first sighting/pic of a woodpecker at Penhale so we're chuffed! The campsite is now officially closed but the holiday homes still have availability for this month. A huge THANK YOU to everyone for such a great camping season, we look forward to seeing you all in 2025 💙
