Wildflower Eco Lodges, Aberdeenshire Wildflower Eco Lodges offer comfortable home from home self catering accommodation in the beautiful rural surroundings of North Aberdeenshire.

Hello, we are The Barry Family. We started planning this project in 2007. We have researched every aspect of these lodges from the brick foundations and straw bale walls to the wildflower roofs. We have sought to use environmentally friendly materials where-ever possible and utilise the skills and knowledge of local tradesmen. We have used the best of materials to give you the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. When you stay with us you will see that we are environmentally aware not just by our use of sustainable building materials but each lodge will have recycling facilities, efficient and eco-friendly heating systems and use bio cleaning products. We also use local produce in our welcome packs, further supporting local businesses and reducing our carbon footprint.

Here at Wildflower Eco Lodges, Aberdeenshire there is always something to do or prepare. As the lodges have stoves we need a steady supply of wood so we have purchased timber locally and had it delivered. Next job sawing and chopping better roll up our sleeves 😁

Here at Wildflower Eco Lodges, Aberdeenshire we read every review and follow up when a customer brings a problem to our attention. Heron lodge decking was reported as slippery when raining so we investigated and found it to be as the customer reported. We then power washed the deck and repainted with anti slip paint but it was still found to be slippery when raining so we found some anti slip boards and had them custom cut and delivered to us. a few hours later 240 holes drilled and counter sunk and 240 screws done we now have a perfect walkway for customers to use.

LAST CHANCE TO VISIT THE OLD MUSEUM

Doors Open Day will be one of the last chances for visitors to see the OLD MUSEUM.

At the end of October the lenses from Rhinns of Islay, Dunnet Head, Corran Point, Fair Isle South, Neist Point, Sanda and Turnberry will be removed from the positions they have taken since 1995.

The lenses are due to be rebuilt in our new lens gallery over the winter.

This represents the biggest change to our galleries in our 30 year history.

Use Doors Open Day as an opportunity to say farewell to this familiar sight!

Doors Open Day takes place on Saturday 19th September (10am-4pm) and Sunday 20th September (10am-12pm) and gives FREE ENTRY to both the Lighthouse and Museum.
