Wee callout to a Manitou tele with a no start condition.

Jusp started to begin diagnosis, found the machine was not charging.

Few quick checks in and found the culprit, a bad connection in the fuse box had caused excessive heat and melted/fractured the charge fuse.

Terminal plug removed from the fuse box and the terminals repaired, new fuse installed and machine jump started to recharge.

After sufficient time charging, a comprehensive battery/charging system test was carried out and found charging system operating as normal, but due to being ran so low the battery had a damaged cell. Battery replaced with like for like and machine returned to service within 2 hours of getting the call.

Not bad for a Friday 😎

Recent job in for a returning customer.

Machine came in with a no start condition which was quickly diagnosed as contaminated fuel. Full system flushand a carb tune up has it running like new.

While it was in the customer asked to have a tow ball fitted with 2 specific height requirements. This was achieved by drawing up and prototyping a few designs with varying dimensions to ensure a perfect fit before sending the drawing over Mark at Precision Laser Works to be cut from 10mm steel with

Few wee jobs to round out the year

●Manitou Telehandler handbrake inoperable. Nice simple one there, supplied and fitted some new brake pads and adjusted the caliper to suit. Now the machine holds steady on the steepest incline on the property.

●JCB 8060 loss of all hydraulic functions except tracking. Quickly diagnosed as a faulty coil for the aux spool. Supplied and fitted new coils to both aux spools and got the customer back up and running (no after pics unfortumately)

●Zetor linkage failure, threads wore out and tore from the 3 point linkage lift arms. As the customer doesn't use these for adjustment and parts were weeks out, the most efficient repair method was to simply clean, pre-heat and weld the linkage together in the same position as before.

●Manitou tele with a failed inner track rod, wear in the joints had acted as a slide hammer and damaged the threads causing it to rip out of the steer ram. Steer ram threads chased, new track rod assembly supplied and fitted. Customer back up and going as soon as possible!

Lastly working with a new piece of kit, a CNC laser for mass production of gaskets and prototyping of components/brackets/plates before fabrication, allowing cheap and quick in house design/testing of solutions before more costly fabrication begins.

UTV's/ATV's

We're not just all about the big stuff here at CP&S Ltd. We are also well versed in servicing/maintanance schedules and repair of many brands and types of UTV/ATV.

This week we had a 2014 Polaris Ranger 570 EFI in for a health check and service at only 100hrs from new 🤯

Machine got the full Polaris service schedule thrown at it;

●50 hr/6 monthly belt check
●100hr engine oil &filter
●100hr spark plug replacement
●100hr air filter clean/inspection
●100hr engine breather filter clean/inspection
●100hr Hilliard front diff oil change
●100hr rear gearcase oil change

Additionally it got (as part of our standard service at CP&S);
●Battery health check
●Coolant condition and freeze point check
●Brake fluid moisture content check
●Full inspection of all suspension and steering components

A replacement battery was fitted due to the poor cold starting this machine had, which was confirmed from the battery test carried out.

Got a call out from Callum Campbell of Infinity Heat and Power Solutions Ltd that his newly acquired JCB telehandler had developed a leak and needed repaired quickly before going out on a long term job.

Immediately attended and diagnosed as a minor leak from the radiator. New radiator was put on rush order and repairs carried out the following day.

🆘️ Callout 🆘️

Call out a few weeks ago to a Terex RT1080 with no power and stalling out when any function was attempted.

This was quickly diagnosed as a blocked DPF causing massive loss of power.

As a replacement DPF was 4 months out from both OEM's, the most cost efficient way to rectify was to apply a DPF solution and clear the blockage from the system.

DPF and AdBlue solution applied to the ECU, exhaust removed and stripped, blockage cleared and system re-sealed on assembly.

Exhaust re-installed with new mounting feet and V band clamp, machine returned to service, with only 2 days use lost.
