We started with a frame in a workshop.

Both huts at Huts & Horses were built by hand, piece by piece, with one question in mind:

Will this actually feel good to use?

We revealed what we'd been working on back in November ~ and now, just weeks later, we're welcoming our first guests this spring.

It feels surreal (and incredibly exciting) to think that soon, you'll be here. Waking up to mountain views with your horse grazing outside. Riding out from your door into the Radnorshire Hills. Sinking into the hot tub after a long day riding.

2026 is filling up fast. With only two huts, that's exactly how we designed it. Private, peaceful, just you and your riding companion (whether that's your daughter, your best friend, or your partner!).

2021 was the year we started building.
2026 is the year we open the gates.

We spent these years with our hands in the soil, hammering timber, testing trail routes, and reimagining what a retreat could look like when horses and their people are given equal care.

And now we're here. Standing at the edge of something we've poured everything into. Our bookings are officially open!

To everyone on the waiting list that secured your early spot: this is your year too. The year you finally book that mountain escape you've been dreaming about. The year your horse gets to wake up to views like this. The year you both get to rest deeply and ride freely.

Want to know the secret about riding in Wales?

It's not the Brecon Beacons. It's not Snowdonia. It’s the places that create less noise, like here.

The Begwns don’t make it onto the Rambling and Trail lists, and that is exactly the point, while everyone else is ticking off Pen y Fan and Yr Wyddfa, the Begwns and the surrounding hills become an equestrian playground.

Every time someone joins the waiting list, it genuinely makes our day. There’s something about knowing people trust what we’re building here before they’ve even seen it finished.

We’re so close to launch date. Like, frustratingly close. The kind of close where we walk the property at sunset and can picture your horses in those paddocks, your faces lit by the fire pit, the sound of hooves heading out at sunrise.

But here’s the truth: we’re still tweaking things. Dotting the T’s and crossing the I’s - asking ourselves, if this were our escape, would everything feel exactly right?

And we’re so very close! So thank you for waiting. Thank you for trusting that when we finally say “we’re ready,” we really mean it.

Your patience means we get to open the gates knowing we’ve done this properly, not quickly, but properly.

Meet Tor, the creator of Huts & Horses.

Tor’s longstanding ambition (20 years!) has been to develop a combination of first-class equine facilities, extensive riding opportunities, and luxury accommodation centred on the area she was fortunate to grow up in.

Having been raised in Tregoyd Mill, Tor’s childhood was blessed with hours of seemingly endless riding with friends across the length and breadth of the Black Mountains and surrounding valleys.

Later in life, Tor moved across the River Wye into Radnorshire to Ffynnon Gynydd. The fifteen years since have enabled her to broaden her knowledge of bridleways and trails across the Begwns and the Radnorshire Hills.

When moving to Ffynnon Gynydd, the principal objective was not only to undertake a restoration of a traditional Welsh farmhouse, but also to build a life around her greatest passion, animals, and above all, horses. The ideal outcome was based around horses and providing them with the perfect setting and life and this comes through in waves within the final product; equine bliss.

For Tor, the luxury accommodation and the restorative element that make Huts & Horses were supplementary to the primary focus. The foundations and the journey itself began with the horses, and this runs through everything.

We genuinely cannot wait for you to experience everything we’ve worked so hard to build and are lucky enough to experience on a daily basis
