It's been a week! A whole week since we had our first guests at Huts and Horses.

After a little bit (well quite a lot) of putting things on hold because of various things being thrown at us, one being a new knee for Robbie but we know that life is like that, that it doesn't always go to plan! However, we rolled up our sleeves and got stuck into the final 'to do' lists.

The gates were finally opened and Sarah, Liz and Astrid joined us, and as always, the best things are worth waiting for and from the reviews that feeling was obviously mutual. We could not have been more blessed because they really were truly wonderful first guests. They made us feel like all the hours of planning, the building, the sourcing and purchasing of 'stuff' and even having to buy curtains (not Tor's strong point!) worth it. We want every one that comes to stay with us leave us feeling like Sarah, Liz and Astrid did and we honestly can't wait to have them back.

Meet Robbie, the one who built Huts & Horses (quite literally!) You can usually find Robbie obsessing over a new idea or racing over the Radnorshire hills by E-Bike (Something he'd love to offer here one day)

He's spent years building Brecon Scaffolding from the ground up, a local business he and Tor put a huge amount of time, energy and hard work into.

Huts & Horses is a new chapter for us, and a very different pace to scaffolding, but the same determination runs through it. Robbie as a carpenter and joiner by trade, designed and built the huts by hand, laying the patios and decking, fitting the kitchens and bathrooms, installing the underfloor heating and hot tubs.

Each detail was thought through with how it would actually feel to stay here; from the stargazing roof, to the flow of the space, to the paddock gates that open and close easily and safely.

This place was built for Tor’s vision, for the horses she loves, and for riders who’ve been searching for somewhere that understands both horse and human needs. Robbie’s proud to have brought his skills into something new, building a place that welcomes people in and stands up to daily use, season after season.

When everything feels solid, calm and considered, that’s by design and it’s the result of years of experience and care in the build.

We started with a frame in a workshop.

Both huts at Huts & Horses were built by hand, piece by piece, with one question in mind:

We revealed what we'd been working on back in November ~ and now, just weeks later, we're welcoming our first guests this spring.

It feels surreal (and incredibly exciting) to think that soon, you'll be here. Waking up to mountain views with your horse grazing outside. Riding out from your door into the Radnorshire Hills. Sinking into the hot tub after a long day riding.

2026 is filling up fast. With only two huts, that's exactly how we designed it. Private, peaceful, just you and your riding companion (whether that's your daughter, your best friend, or your partner!).

2021 was the year we started building.
2026 is the year we open the gates.

We spent these years with our hands in the soil, hammering timber, testing trail routes, and reimagining what a retreat could look like when horses and their people are given equal care.

And now we're here. Standing at the edge of something we've poured everything into. Our bookings are officially open!

Want to know the secret about riding in Wales?

It's not the Brecon Beacons. It's not Snowdonia. It’s the places that create less noise, like here.
