We are looking for an experienced and reliable freelance chef to work during the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 8th ā€“ 13th July 2026.

ā€¢ Preparing and serving breakfast for B&B guests
ā€¢ Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen

What an unforgettable experience, an evening of wonderful food and the very best company at the Horse and Groom. Dining with Michel Roux, alongside his ever talented team and the chefs at the pub made it all the more special.

A massive thank you to Anoushka and John who hosted the event, and to all the incredibly talented chefs, manager and staff for their warm hospitality, amazing cooking, service and for creating such a memorable occasion. Truly one of those evenings you wish you could bottle and relive.

Spring really is showing off

Just a short drive away, the tulips are in full bloom at the beautiful Arundel Tulip Festival . Truly one of the most colourful sights of the season and well worth a visit.

Had the best day yesterday doing a basket weaving workshop using willow. Learnt a lot and even got to make a basket in one day.

Autumn Walk to The Trundle, Goodwood

One of our favourite autumn walks from Saddlers B&B is up to The Trundle, a beautiful hilltop walk just 10 minutesā€™ drive from us, offering sweeping views across the South Downs, Chichester Cathedral and out to the coast. On a clear day you can see the Isle of Wight.

The Trundle (also known as St Rocheā€™s Hill) is steeped in history. Itā€™s home to an ancient Iron Age hill fort, later reused by the Romans, and even has the remains of a 12th-century chapel dedicated to St Roche. Standing at the top, itā€™s easy to imagine the centuries of stories this landscape has seen.

In autumn, the walk is particularly special šŸ’« the air is crisp, the colours glow gold and red! Itā€™s the perfect way to start your trip at Saddlers ā€” fresh air, history and some of the most breathtaking views in West Sussex.
