🌸 A Heartwarming Gesture at The Millcroft Hotel 🌸

We were truly touched this week when one of our wonderful guests went the extra mile to brighten our team's day.

Not only did they leave behind these beautiful handmade origami cranes, but they also shared an inspiring message about the Jasmine Foundation — a charity founded in memory of their daughter, dedicated to raising awareness around mental health, supporting those who need it most, and championing creativity as a powerful tool for wellbeing.

This kind guest is currently cycling the NC500 to help spread this important message and raise vital funds. Their thoughtfulness and dedication left our whole team smiling and reminded us how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting an unexpected special guest this weekend — the incredibly talented Scottish singer-songwriter Ben Walker! 🎤✨

Ben popped in and completely won everyone over. What a lovely, polite, and genuine young man — he’s a real breath of fresh air and such a joy to chat with. His voice is genuinely outstanding, and we have no doubt he’s going places in the music industry! 🚀

A huge shoutout to Ben — it was an honour to have you with us. Everyone at The Milly Bar wishes you all the very best for the future. Keep shining!

We were so touched to receive this beautiful handwritten thank you card in the post.

While the card was written to our manaager James, this one truly belongs to the whole team. Every member of staff at The Millcroft Hotel & Milly Bar pours their heart into making sure our guests feel genuinely cared for, and moments like this remind us why we do what we do. When guests take the time to write such warm, personal words, it means the world to every one of us.

This isn’t just a hotel — it’s our home. And when you feel at home with us, it shows. Thank you, Paul and Debbie, for your kindness in writing to us. We won’t forget you either.

🐾 Big news from the Milly Bar – we’re now officially PET FRIENDLY! 🐱🍺

We’ve always been dog friendly, but tonight we’re updating the rules because these two legends showed up and stole the show!

Please welcome Grimm and his brother Odin, two beautiful boys who’ve travelled all the way from Cologne, Germany, on an adventure around the Scottish Highlands! 🇩🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

These cheeky travellers popped in for some local delights and went straight for a pint of The Loch Ewe Brewing Company Ltd. ‘Longa Days’ – our cracking west coast beer that’s brewed just down the road. They gave it the paws-up! 👍

Our manager James couldn’t resist a proper cuddle with the fluffy one… and honestly, who could blame him? 😻

So whether you’ve got a dog, a cat, or any well-behaved furry friend – bring them along! The Milly Bar is your pet’s new favourite Highland pit stop.

Come for the beer, stay for the pets (and the craic)!

We get asked this question so often we thought we’d just shout it from the (beer-soaked) rooftops!

Meet one of our favourite locals — Albert, this little legend lives at Gairloch Holiday Park just behind the pub and treats The Milly Bar like his second home. Complete with his little blue cape, he’s basically pub royalty.

Whether you’re travelling the NC500 and need a proper feed, or you’re just out for a pint, you and your four-legged friend are more than welcome in the bar.

Dogs welcome. Owners tolerated. 😉

Just a heads up — we don’t take table reservations in the bar, it’s first come, first served. Grab a seat, order some tasty grub, and let your dog join the craic!

After one of our guests checked out, our housekeeping team discovered this beautiful handwritten thank you note left in their room.

Nothing makes our team happier than knowing our guests had such a wonderful stay with us! Thank you Nigel and Sandy for your kind words and for recommending us — it truly means the world to everyone at the hotel.

From all of us here at The Milly — and judging by the amazing turnout, pretty much all of Gairloch too — we want to wish our very own Davie a MASSIVE Happy 70th Birthday! 🥳🎂
