Mr Fawlty had the following to say about the return: "Right, listen up everyone — apparently Fawlty Towers has returned to Torquay, and I’m expected to be delighted about it. Well, I am — in a manner of speaking. It’s not every day one’s own professional catastrophe is turned into a stage production, is it?

The play is running at the Princess Theatre, and I’m told it’s “a loving tribute.” That’s all very well, but if anyone starts rearranging the furniture or asking for Waldorf salads, I shall be forced to have words.

Still, it’s rather nice to see Torquay back in the spotlight — the palm trees, the seagulls, the faint air of confusion. So polish your shoes, book your tickets, and prepare for an evening of chaos, sarcasm, and questionable hospitality."

Fawlty Towers: The Play — Torquay’s finest disaster revisited.

The figures for February are in at lovells chocolate box.

Times are very difficult for the independent retail sector and lots of businesses are treading on very thin ice.
Babbacombe is really fortunate to have a community of traders who are united in the cause of making all the shops as attractive as possible, and accordingly have a wonderful core of customers who support us consistantly all year round.
It is fair to say that 2025 was very difficult for trade in all sectors, and we recorded the lowest year on year figures since opening.
Therefore it is with real joy and confidence that since November we are having a super run of business.
Despite February being a horrible month weather wise and people feeling a real pinch in the pocket we are delighted to be able to say we were 17% up on last year in February.
These figures are entirely down to the people of Babbacombe, Torbay and wider south Devon being such kind, discerning, wonderful people to do business with.
We have had a great selection of exciting new businesses joining our community in the last few months, including our own Mrs Lovells toy box.
Please give all our new and established businesses as much encouragement as possible, even if not purchasing anything, a few kind words go an awful long way.

Thank you everyone, bring on March, spring, summer, on and on ad infinitum.
❤️😍
