We have been busy bees today

Appropriate considering its World Bee Day!

We like to keep the bees happy at the farm, with the crops we grow, the trees we plant and the natural habit we manage and protect .

Happy World Bee Day, we look forward to welcoming you soon, and sharing the countryside the bees and other wildlife call home

There must be something good to look at !!

The Red Kites and Owls have been soaring over the fields today, especially the recently harvested Rye fields

These are just some of the many birds we have around the farm, that's why we have binoculars and bird spotting books in all our cottages

Come and enjoy, don't forget Colin and the chickens as well !

Every day is a school day

I have been asked by guests to give a bit more information on the Rye - here we go !!

We grow Rye as it serves a dual purpose, acting as a winter break cover crop. this protects the soil and reduces nutrient runoff before being harvested for energy production.

Once the Rye has been harvested the biomass is used as a feedstock for anaerobic digestion to produce biogas or renewable natural gas.

This is all part of regenerative farming journey, come and visit us and Angus is happy to discuss our future plans
