After the most glorious summer, Santa is getting ready for winter...

The last few years The Dog House quickly got booked up for Christmas, so if you're planning a cosy Christmas getaway, or visiting family nearby, get in touch to book asap!

This year, Arcadia Cottage will also be available to book for the first time. Our 2 bed cottage is ideal for families, friends or couples, who want to spent Christmas curled up in front of the log burner. Both properties are dog friendly.

The 26th August is National Dog Day! It is a time to come together and celebrate all things DOG. 🐾

Whether you’re a proud pawrent or furry fanatic, National Dog Day reminds us to show appreciation for those cute companions we can’t do without. 🐶

We very much celebrate dogs here at Mere Holiday Cottages but we wanted to celebrate International Cat Day too! When we used to live in Arcadia Cottage, our cat Tilly would often come and supervise the turnovers in The Dog House. Queen of the castle that’s for sure!

It's Friday and it's International Beer Day! So where can you get a beer in Mere? 🍻

We are blessed with 3 fantastic, dog friendly pubs with the furthest being a 15 minute walk from Mere Holiday Cottages and the closest within 5 minutes! 🐾

So, for a little Mere pub crawl we recommend starting at the other end of town at .sherry.mere for a local ale. Then hop over the road to to try out their new beer garden, then you can stroll in the direction of home to for your final pint and something to eat before a cosy nights sleep at The Dog House or Arcadia Cottage! 🏡

As always, drinks responsibly and enjoy the beers in Mere! 😁
