Stock beginning to arrive ready for Wishes fae Girvan opening on 5th September, so Suzi and I had a day off from the changeovers and the laundry and spent the afternoon unpacking.
Here's a sneaky peak - hope you like it.
Just a small selection from four of our new suppliers - all UK based and the vast majority of their products are actually made in the UK.

Epic Sky Media have made some fantastic short films - saw one at the Girvan Arts Festival. Well worth going to see. I can guarantee the discussion afterwards will be really interesting and informative.

During the Festival, we are delighted to be bringing you not one, but TWO Film Premieres!

Friday 28th August at 2pm
Premiere of the Children’s Smuggling Film “Shadows of the Shore”
Venue: Ballantrae Primary School, The Vennel, Ballantrae
The film has been made by the children of Ballantrae Primary School based on their Smuggling Story Book “The Mystery of Ballantrae - Our Smuggling Tales”. Copies of the book will be available at £5 per copy, proceeds to school funds.

Sunday 30th August at 2pm Premiere of the film “Ballantrae’s Smuggling Story” followed by a conversation “Our Creative Journey”
Venue: Community Hall, Main Street, Ballantrae
After the showing of the film Alan Jeans of Girvan Arts Festival will lead a conversation about the creation of the film with Frances Wilkins (author and social historian), Andy McAlpine (Ballantrae History Group and Smugglers Festival), Craig Bradshaw and Rodger Hunter (Epic Sky Media).
This event is sponsored by the Ballantrae History Group.

Thereafter we’ll close the Festival with refreshments and the raffle draw for items from the Contraband Hamper.

Well, it's been a while since I last posted, and you'll have to forgive me, but a lot has happened 😁
For the past couple of months, our holiday cottages have been fully booked - mainly 2-3 night bookings with no breaks. It's been a challenge keeping up with changeovers and laundry, but we're keeping our heads just above the water, our wee legs kicking like crazy underneath 🏊
I'm in the process of developing a website which I'm really excited about, but more of that at a later date - it's going to be stunning 😍
I have also taken on a new project that's been filling in every spare moment. Suzi, who has worked with me at Patricia Edwards Cottages since 2020, and myself, and our two partners are buying a shop 😲So, on 1st September, fingers crossed 🤞we will get the keys to Wishes (thank you Julie for believing in us and giving us so much great advice🙏)
Suzi and I spent a few days in July at a brilliant trade show in Harrogate, signed up some incredible new suppliers that we can't wait to introduce you all to, have developed so many lovely and exciting plans for the shop - Wishes fae Girvan - we will be opening on Saturday 5th September @ 10am 📢 - less than a month to go, and a million things to do. Oh yes, and an unbelievable number of bookings coming up at the holiday cottages - don't worry Catherine, we'll manage! 😬😘
A big thank you to all our lovely guests who have stayed with us 🙏 (your wonderful reviews keep us going) or who will be arriving over the next few weeks (can't wait to meet you 🫶). I'll try to keep posting to keep you all in the loop, but tend to fall asleep before I finish a sentence.....🥱😁

Get ready for another massive weekend in Girvan! 🌊 If you’re looking for plans, this is exactly where you need to be for an amazing lineup of events.

Here is what is coming up:

🏃‍♂️ Girvan Prom Parkrun – Kick off your weekend with a friendly 5k along the seafront on Saturday at 9:30 AM.

🥔 Girvan Tattie Fest & Fringe – Family fun at The Wave on Dalrymple Street at 11am. Head over to Louisa Drive from 1 PM to 5 PM for the 5th anniversary celebration of the Ayrshire tattie. Expect a circus big top, giant kites, a silent disco, live music, and plenty of family fun. Girvan Community Garden are hosting live music, tattie food and a Gin Bar.

🎶 Music On The Prom Girvan – The summer concert season officially launches on Sunday from 1 PM to 4:30 PM with free live entertainment (at 3pm) right by the water.

The Boating Pond and Biosphere bikes will be open too and remember the exhibitions at The McKechnie!
