Arncliffe View started life several hundred years ago looking just like Stang End. If you want to see for yourself then take a trip to the Ryedale Folk Museum

One of the things many of our visitors often comment about in reviews is the number of painstakingly relocated or reconstructed buildings we have at Ryedale Folk Museum.

From our rather grand and very beautiful Manor House down to the little details and fittings of the High Shop, our 1950's village store from Rosedale East, staff and volunteers across several decades put a huge amount of work into setting the scene for our immersive, open-air museum.

We've made a number of nice upgrades over the last few weeks, including an LG OLED TV, quirky furniture and lighting, and a 10Kg tumble dryer. Makes for an even nicer place to stay 😊😊😊

Moody weather at Staithes today, but at least it stayed dry!

Three historic steam engines dating from the 1820s, built by the pioneers of the first passenger railways.

These are on show at Locomotion in Shilden, an hours drive from Arncliffe View.

The three engines are: Rocket, Sans Pareil and Locomotion No. 1.

There are lots of other trains to see and entry is free!

Whitby was glorious in the sunshine today 🌞

The sky was grey today but HMS Trincomalee still looked fantastic at the Royal Navy museum, Hartlepool. HMS Trincomalee is the UK's oldest floating warship.
