The members of Rutherglen Orange and Purple District 20 were saddened to learn of the passing of a long term supporter and much loved friend Mrs May Inglis.

May was the wife for 63 years to former District Chief Marshall, Bro Matt Inglis until his death 2 years ago but was also an avid supporter of the activities of the District and our Social Club attending events as often as she could giving her financial and morale support.

May held a special place in so many members hearts with her warm welcoming personality, caring attitude always taking interest in everyone who spoke with her’s personal life and their families and showing genuine empathy where merited.

At this time we keep May in our thoughts and prayers but also her family who will be hurting deeply at this time.

Safe in the arms of Jesus x

May’s funeral will be on Saturday 10th October 2026, leaving from her house on Cathcart Road at 10.30am to go to the Linn crematorium for 11.00 o'clock for a service to celebrate her life. All who knew and loved her will be made welcome x
