Dear customers and friends, we’d like to share that as of October 16th, Bothwell Bridge Hotel will be closed fully to allow us to embark on an exciting venue transformation project.

As many of you will know, we were adopted into the Manorview Group a few months ago. Though their intention was always to invest in the property, the reality is that the inside and outside of the building needs some TLC sooner than initially anticipated. That said, we took the difficult (albeit right) decision to bring this process forward and close sooner.

We will be fully renovating it, inside and out, with the local community and visiting customers in mind. It will remain a hotel, wedding/events venue, and restaurant and bar – but with a new look.

We’ve already spoken with those who had a wedding or event booked with us. Any weddings or events happening before October 16th will go ahead as planned, as will any event-related accommodation bookings.

As of yet, we do not have a clear picture of our re-opening date. But rest assured as soon as we know more – you will all be first to know! In an effort to learn more about what you’d love to see happen at Bothwell Bridge, we will also likely ask you to participate in some chats or surveys in the future. We’d like to share that Bothwell Bridge Hotel is now under new ownership. The new custodians of our venue are Scottish hospitality business, Manorview Group. After 42 years of being operated by the Martalo family, it’s time for a new chapter – and our new owners are delighted to adopt the hotel into their collection.

The group have extensive experience in the sector, and operate other hotels in the region, as well as further afield in Scotland. Please see a statement below from them:

“We look forward to taking the baton from the Martalo family and continuing the legacy and story of this wonderful hotel and historic property. We take great pride in our properties, and this will be no different.”

Armando Cirignaco, former General Manager of Bothwell Bridge Hotel, said: “The Martalo family is proud to have served the Bothwell community for more than four decades and, as we pass the reins to Manorview, we know we are leaving the business we have built in excellent hands with another family firm. We would like to thank the local community for their custom and loyalty and we wish the new operators every success."

We would be grateful for your support while we make this transition into the Manorview Group. We’ll continue to operate the venue as a hotel, wedding/events venue, and restaurant and bar. Though for a short time we’ll close the restaurant to the public, allowing us to focus on weddings and events. Hotel rooms will be open only to those attending weddings and events. We have begun the process of contacting wedding couples to reassure them their day will go ahead as planned and will do the same for those who have booked events. We look forward to welcoming guests!
