Nestled in the luxury and privacy of The Roundhouse you’ll be completely oblivious to what’s going on at Craigmaddie Muir Farm in April! We are in full swing lambing sheep around the clock. It’s our busiest, most important and favourite time of year. A couple of years ago we started inviting our Roundhouse guests to come along and see what we do during lambing and of course they all got to cuddle a lamb! This went down a treat and all of last year’s guests have rebooked for this year! We have the 17-24 April left and if you book for a minimum of 3 nights we’ll give you a complimentary private tour of our lambing shed. Fingers crossed you’ll get to see a birth! The lambing experience is of course optional, you don’t have to cuddle a lamb!

Maybe you’d rather stay put and bask in the luxury of The Roundhouse, enjoying breathtaking hilltop views from 180 degrees of floor to ceiling glass, a crackling stove and a unique hand crafted interior. Enjoy beautiful walks without having to get in your car!

Here’s a wee glimpse of our new baby girls! I visited them on my dog walk this morning; what a day for a walk☀️🕶️. Do they have names? Well we named them after our Mums, Gail and Maggie 🙈😂! It was only supposed to be a laugh but the names seem to have stuck, much to the horror of our sons! One’s more blondie like my mum Gail and the other’s darker like Gordon’s Mum Maggie! We hope to get them used to being handled and eventually we will halter train them so they can be shown in hand. We already have cattle on our farm, namely the beautiful Aberdeen Angus, however, who doesn’t love a highland cow? Will we be using them to advertise The Roundhouse? Absolutely! Stay in the incredibly romantic Roundhouse this December! It boasts a luxurious and unique handcrafted interior, a glass front to take in the breathtaking hilltop views, a generously proportioned hot tub, and acres and acres of private woodland. Steeped in the most beautiful countryside you won’t want to leave but if you do, you can walk for miles directly from your door or why not visit Glasgow to take in a show or visit the Christmas market. Why stay in December? Crisp country walks, hot chocolates by the wood burner and beautiful Christmas decorations will definitely get you in the festive spirit.

The Roundhouse is fully booked for Christmas and New Year but there is still some December availability.
