Introducing our new series of:
πΏ MEET THE TEAM part 1 πΏ
Meet Tara, our Manager, here at Old Oaks π
β³ Time at Old Oaks:
This is my 21st year living at Wick Farm. I was born in Watford and moved to East Sussex at the age of 3. After that I moved to Glastonbury town 30 years ago, aged 25. Then to Wick Farm in 2005. At the time I was working as a PA in Adult Social Care. I left there about 3 years later to start helping out at Old Oaks.
π‘ A little bit about you:
Married for 20 years to James White, the head gardener / other manager. 2 adult children, Lily (22) and Henry (18). Love wine and vodka (a little too much π). I like cooking for the family (sometimes). I have 2 whippets, Ronnie and Reggie.
π What you love most about the park:
The location and views are wonderful. On the rare occasion I leave my desk (in my lounge), I can't help but marvel at the fabulous views. It's such a pleasure to work in this beautiful spot and every day I thank the stars that we have such an incredible team!
π Favourite spot on the park:
The pond, followed by the meadow (especially when the wildflowers are at their best in late Spring).
π½ Favourite food:
Indian all the way!
β¨ Hidden talent:
It's so well hidden that I haven't worked out what it is yet!
π΅ Hobbies / fun:
Dancing to house music. Festivals. Hanging out with good friends. Sunshine! Holidays (as many as possible).
π How would your colleagues describe you:
Approachable, honest, fair, up for a laugh (I hope).
π Local recommendation:
Current favourite place to eat is The Mitre in Glastonbury where they have excellent steaks, cocktails and beer garden. Queen of Cups is always special. Try the walk from Wick Lane to The Lion pub. And somewhere I keep meaning to revisit is Mells. There's a lovely walk along the river, through woodland to the old Ironworks
π¬ Top tip for guests
Relax and enjoy!
If you see Tara around the park (rare occurrence, some might say π), be sure to say hello!
