Just an hour and a half from Glasgow, the 22 acre Ormidale Estate sits on “Argyll’s Secret Coast” just between Colintraive and Tighnabruaich near the stretch of waters known as the Kyles of Bute. The house has gorgeous views, but it is in a truly spectacularly scenic location. After six years service we wish them well - and we are recruiting!

We no longer have a swimming pool to run, so the residential /on site aspect may not be quite as critical as before...

A wee whisky at home to celebrate our joint first place finish in the brilliant fundraising quiz organised by Michael Pinkerton for St Johns Ambulance Defibrillator Distribution campaign. None of my raffle tickets won anything but the Davies invaders from the West, accompanied by Michael's mum-in-law Fiona Garwood were very pleased to have been at the lovely Assembly space in Roxburgh Place. £5,700 raised. Brilliant work from Michael and Morven.

I don't usually do the manual shift at Ormidale - Pam and Norman as Estate managers do an excellent job running the place. This week, I am their relief as they get a well-earned break.

I am very excited about having new photography done tomorrow for our website and general marketing. For years, guests have said our website doesn't do the place justice.

Time to change that, obviously.

I have spent 11 hours on my feet, or on the mower today, getting the place ready for guests (mostly, in three of the four houses) and Lorraine Dallas birthday tomorrow in the other one, and the photographer coming.

Absolutely knackered.

Hopefully she can photoshop the lines straight...
