Hi!

On the back of this post, I think I have gotten back to everyone who was interested in buying something. If I haven’t, please pop me a message to remind me.. I think I’ve lost track of a few!!

A quick update below:

- There are no Tall bar stools left, apologies!

- we will be having somewhat of an “open day” very soon for everything else left over, things like kitchen equipment which has had lots of interest which will be first come first served. Please keep an eye out for an update on this or message me if you’d like to be updated on this once we have more information.

In preparation for our move, we are having a good clear out of the pub. When I say clear out I really mean CLEAR out!!

Tables, chairs, stools, decor, fruit machines, games machines, TV, kitchen equipment, cellar stuff, glassware, crockery, garden benches, statues, Christmas, Halloween, Birthday decorations... you name it 🙂

I have added some photos of the kind of things we're looking to find new homes for.
Some stuff we will be keeping and some will be donated. If you know of anywhere in need of the usual household/catering stuff please let us know.

But, we would like to offer anyone the chance who particularly likes something we have in the Red Lion to pop us a message and perhaps make an offer as we would like to sell a good portion of this.

I understand this post will receive a lot of 'have you sold, who to, what's it gonna be?' questions. and the honest answer is, I don't know, AND why not keep it a good old fashioned surprise ey?!

Pop us a message if anything takes your interest & we would really appreciate a share- you never know who might be looking for something! 🙂

Hi All,

Michaela here again. I don't have much of an update really but it's been a while since I last posted.

The pub will be opening from Wednesday 18th August 15:00 - 22:00 everyday. We'd love to see you.. it's been difficult sticking to set opening times since Dad was ill, but these times should be set now and we are looking to start serving food again in the next week or so.

Dad is still doing very well and making improvements. Still no news on when he might be able to come home.

I was incorrectly told by the hospital over the phone that I could visit, so when I turned up on Saturday the nurses were very apologetic that I'd been given the wrong information and they let me stand at the door of dad's room for about 5 minutes to say Hello - he is looking well and seemed comfortable!
Those 5 minutes were totally worth the two hours of driving though.

Thanks if you have sent Dad a card - they are up in his room and make the place so much brighter!

Michaela here again.

A quick update on my lovely Pa. Thankyou so much for your thoughts and kind words this past week - it's so nice that so many people care about him!

Throughout the week there was some complications with treating dad's stroke due to some pre-existing conditions he had which was quite scary to hear. He is however making really good progress and improving everyday. He phoned mum a few days ago & sounded in really good spirits - and his speech has improved tenfold! It was lovely to hear directly from him too rather than just getting updates from the Doctors ( as lovely as they are) who say that he is drinking them out of cups of tea.

Today they are going to transfer him from Stoke Royal to Leighton and depending on their rules, we might be able to go & visit him which i'm so keen to do.
He will be staying at Leighton for a little while ( we have no idea how long) whilst they work on his physical therapy with him so hopefully he'll be up and dancing with us again soon!

Michaela here!
We've had a few messages since my post about being closed yesterday, so I will update you all together here as messaging people individually is taking a lot out of me. I know this post will also set my phone going a million times an hour too though haha.

First of all, the pub will be re-opening early doors tomorrow. So from around 3:30pm. No food yet, just the bar.

Dad/Mike/Grouch is currently in hospital. He suffered quite a bad stroke on Tuesday night. We can't visit him at the moment due to hospital rules but mum is speaking to the wonderful staff there a couple of times a day and is popping back and to the hospital with bits for him. From what they're telling us, he's suffered some more severe symptoms BUT he is already getting stronger and recovering well with some speech and physical therapy already!

We aren't quite sure when he will be coming home but are happy to know that he is in the best place at the moment and as a family are sending him all the love in the world.

I know alot of you will want to pass on your love 'cos he's such a bloody great guy. If you have messaged to pass on your concerns or best wishes, please know i've seen your message, can't tell you how much we appreciate it and it will get passed on.. but if I don't get back to you, i'm not being rude or ignoring you intentionally. same goes for the rest of the Garnetts and I hope you can understand!!

I will let you know if anything changes, but for now I know that if we could see him, he'd be giving us all a big thumbs up like he is in the photo below.. which is actually one of my favourite things ever.
