Not far from us is Muncaster Castle - stunning grounds and a castle packed with history! The Pennington family and their team also host some fabulous events. This weekend there is a celebration of the solstice with folk songs and festivities - with Folk By The Castle.

We've had some lovely clear nights so far this year, and the stars are spectacular. People love having a stargaze from the hot tub or just from the front porch - perfect as this lovely review told us before - thank you Dorinda😍

"Stayed over at Windhall for a couple of nights, visiting friends. The Lodge was immaculate, cosy & nicely furnished. The views over the surrounding area were spectacular & sunset, sunrise was amazing. Lovely Hot Tub for stargazing. Treats also left out. We would definitely stay over again.

Also The Red Admiral Gosforth pub just over 5mins away served beautiful food & would definitely recommend – very reasonable.
12 out 10. We will be back."

Wow, what a beautiful stretch of weather we’ve had lately! It has us excited for the summer ahead. ☀️😎
We’re moving into our peak busy season, which means the calendar is fairly packed and summer gaps in next couple of months are rare. June is nearly full, but there's a window 🪟😁
We have a three-night stay available next month:

We loved welcoming Alex, Rob, and their dog to Windhall Log Cabin recently! From the comfy king size bed to the ideal kitchen and bathroom, we really do strive to make every stay feel like a home away from home.
