The Alverbank Sunday lunch has got to be one of our food highlights of the week! Do not lose out tonight! Tickets for Comedy at the Alverbank go on-sale at 6pm!

It was a stacked line-up at Comedy at the Alverbank last night. First, Matt Price delivered an opening set unlike anything we've seen before. Then Samantha Day kept the laughs coming with her observations on Reiki healing and the youth of today. Finally, the magnetic Marcus Brigstocke took us home with yet another belly-aching headline set. It was such a pleasure to have him back.

We return on the 2nd July before taking a short break over August. Opening is star of last year's Mayflower pantomime, Max Fulham and headlining is Mock the Week regular Glenn Moore. Tickets go on sale at 6pm tonight.

We need your help! We would like you, our customers, friends and family, to support this campaign 'VAT'S the problem' working towards reducing the amount of VAT hospitality businesses pay!

Hospitality is one of the UK’s greatest success stories. It employs millions of people, gives young people their first jobs, keeps high streets alive and brings communities together. All of which we at the Alverbank have always held in our core business objectives and hold in high regard.

On 1 July, the hospitality industry is coming together to launch ‘VAT’s the Problem’ Calling for VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

A 10% VAT rate would: Support pubs, restaurants, cafes, event venues, hotels and nightclubs, and many more. It will get businesses investing in jobs and helping our customers.

It will strengthen high streets and local communities! Because when hospitality businesses close, communities lose far more than places to eat and drink — they lose connection, opportunity and local identity.
