Grantown now has a dog park 😁
Occasionally guests ask where they can walk their dogs where they won’t meet others, so this is definitely somewhere to recommend.

Looking forward to going along ourselves with Islay to try it out.

On Monday evening I went to the finale workshop of the Grantown Open Studios weekend. It was a live session with Hamish Napier Music to compose a new piece of music in 90 mins with audience participation. I was intrigued as to how he would achieve this, but sure enough after 90 mins we had composed ‘Light on the Cromdales’.

Personally, I think it’s pretty good 🎶

We love this tree. We take lots of photos of it in the autumn when the leaves are changing colour. It really stands out on its own at the bottom of the park opposite the house. Here it’s looking lovely as the leaves start coming through in Spring.

We do love May!

It’s when we finally start planting out the annuals in the garden pots with no risk of frost (hopefully!). Everything feels like it’s waking up for the summer finally.

The month also starts with and the Whisky Festival bringing a real buzz to the area.

And at the end of the month, it’s Karen’s birthday!

Nothing beats evening therapy than a walk through our woods with the birdsong in the background! It was such a beautiful and warm evening and with the sun setting so late now, it’s a fantastic way to relax after a day’s work. ☀️

Ravenscourt House Guest House will be open this weekend for brunch and snacks during Grantown Open Studios.

We really enjoy brunch here 😋

We are celebrating the 'Open Studios' weekend by staying open until 3pm!

We will be serving our wide selection of Ravenscourt brunches off our menu along with home made cakes!

We are also open for coffee, cakes and cranachans for those who'd like a wee treat.

You don't need to book, just pop in and be treated like royalty.

Wow, this is just one of the visiting artists coming to Grantown next weekend as part of Grantown Open Studios. As well as Grantown’s phenomenal artists opening their studios to visitors, art galleries, the museum and community centre will be hosting visiting artists from across the Cairngorms. There’s also a free bus with different routes each day over the weekend.

We can’t wait!
